Praying and fasting:
The menstruating woman does not pray or fast during the period of her menses.

Having a bath: Once the woman is sure her period has stopped, she must make ghusl (ritual bath), completely washing her whole body and hair. (Click here for a Guide to ghusl)

Making up missed fasts: The prayers do not need to be made up, refer to this fatwa regarding which (previous) prayers she should do once she is clean. The missed obligatory fasts (during the month of Ramadaan) however do need to be made up. These may be made up after Ramadaan and while the woman is clean from menses.

Note: Once a girl (or boy) is baaligh (mature, reached puberty), it is obligatory for her to pray the five obligatory Salaat (prayers), and to fast in the month of Ramadaan. If she/he does not do this she/he will be sinful and may be punished by Allah.
