By Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyah

All praise is due to Allaah, and the peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped in truth except Allaah alone without any partner and I testify that Muhammad is his Slave and Messenger.

To proceed:

In front of you is a new print (i.e. of the book ‘My Advice to the Women’) which I present to my Muslim sister, hoping that Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic, will allow you to benefit from it.

I present to you this book which is small in size but important due to the advice and guidance it contains, especially as giving advice is from the way of the Messengers.

Nooh (‘Alayhisalaam) said to his nation:

“I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you. And I know from Allaah what you know not.” (Al-A'raf 7:62)

Hood (‘Alayhisalaam) said:

“I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy adviser (or well-wisher) for you.” (Al-A'raf 7:68)

Saalih (‘Alayhisalaam) said:

Then he [Saalih] turned from them, and said: “O my people! I have indeed conveyed to you the Message of my Lord, and have given you good advice but you like not good advisers.” (Al-A'raf 7:79)

Shu’ayb (‘Alayhisalaam) said:

Then he (Shu'ayb) turned from them and said: “O my people! I have indeed conveyed my Lord's Messages unto you and I have given you good advice. Then how can I sorrow for the disbelieving people's (destruction).” (Al-A'raf 7:93)

Advice is the supporting pillar of the religion

There comes in Saheeh Muslim, with a completely connected chain, and in Bukhaari, in Mu’alaq form, upon the authority of Abu Ruqayyah Tameem ad-Daaree (Radiya Allaahu ‘anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said,

“The religion is advice.” We said, “To whom O Messenger of Allaah?” He said, “To Allaah, His Messenger, His Book, the leaders of the Muslims, and thecommon folk.”

Jareer Ibn Abdullaah pledged allegiance to the Prophet (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) that he would perform the prayer, give zakaat and advise each and every Muslim.

This hadeeth is reported by the two Shaykhs (Bukhaari and Muslim) upon the authority of Jareer Ibn Abdullaah.

When asked what is considered to be the most superior of actions, Abdullaah Ibn Al-Mubaarak replied, “Offering advice for the sake of Allaah.” The reference for this narration of Ibn Al-Mubaarak is found in the book ‘Jaami’ Al-‘Uloom wal Hikaam’ - page 80.

For this reason, I wanted to put forth these pieces of advice to those who are (considered) my sisters for the sake of Allaah, especially when it was requested of me to write about the issues pertaining to the women and that which is specific to them. (Whenever I was asked this), my answer was always that Shaykh Mustafa, may Allaah reward him with good, has already taken upon this task so there is no need to chase after that which already exists, as our main concern is to aid Islaam.

My latest work on this book has been to slightly expand and revise it where needed.

I ask Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic, that He places this upon my scale of good deeds, and that He allows this to be beneficial. All praise is due to Allaah, Lord of all the creation.
